The existing rooftop walkway was manufactured using wood and rotted away during the harsh Canadian winters. They wanted a more durable and safe walkway and stair system for the maintenance workers to use. The new fiberglass grating walkway system utilizes 1” deep, 1-1/2” square mesh molded fiberglass grating supported on W6x1/4” Wide flange fiberglass beams with 2” square tube handrail down both sides. The previous ladder was steel rungs embedded in the concrete walls which were slippery during the winter or wet periods. They replaced this with our standard wall mounted fiberglass grating ladder. The molded fiberglass gratings are slip resistent and long lasting.
